About Catherine
Catherine Atwood is a federally licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) who brings both precision and warmth to tax preparation. With over ten years of experience in the field, she’s passionate about helping individuals, families, and small business owners feel confident and informed during tax season and beyond.
A Petaluma native, Catherine is proud to offer her professional tax services to her hometown and surrounding areas. Her career began at H&R Block, where she gained hands-on experience preparing tax returns for a wide range of clients—including retirees, self-employed professionals, and growing families. That early work gave her a deep understanding of how to tailor tax strategies to each person’s unique situation.
As an Enrolled Agent, Catherine is recognized by the IRS as a tax expert, authorized to represent taxpayers in all matters before the IRS. She invests significant time each year into continuing education to stay current with the ever-changing tax code, ensuring her clients benefit from every available credit, deduction, and opportunity to minimize their tax liability.
Catherine is known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to explain complex tax topics in a way that makes sense. She believes in building lasting relationships and takes the time to truly understand each client’s needs.
Outside of tax season, Catherine enjoys exploring nature, spending quality time with her family, and giving back to the Petaluma community. Her approachable style and deep expertise make her a trusted partner in all things tax.
kind words
I love doing taxes, you don’t.
During these hectic times, why not have me do the part I like, so you can do what you like.
